See what our guests have to say about Modern B&B.
07/06/2008 Modern B and B is a really
special place - I have never stayed in any b&b like it before. It has a very homey yet contemporary feel - very bright and
sunny. Lisa is friendly and so accommodating. Breakfast is served at a large table with the other guests (coming and going).
It kind of seems like a family. The food was excellent - including wonderful granola! And I have to add - the bed was ever
so comfortable.
06/18/2008 I had a fine time at Modern B&B. Good breakfast, comfortable room, fat cat. --Edward Albee,

06/12/2008 I travel constantly on my job and long ago gave up staying in chain hotels out of sheer boredom;
byou never know what you're going to get in a B&B. Modern B&B was, hands down, the best B&B I've ever stayed at in terms of
comfort, amenities and the sheer joy of Lisa's (and friends!) company. I never feel as if I'm staying at a commercial establishment
-- I feel right at home. There are always interesting people around and Lisa plays "salon hostess" to great effect. Food:
great. Accommodations: Better than great. Company: superb. Flexibility/being accommodating: terrific. The only downside to
my writing this review is that I'm afraid so many people will books rooms there might not be any availability the next time
I need it!
06/12/2008 I recommend this place to everyone I meet. I travel to Houston 1 or 2 times a year and usually
would stay in a hotel, however after discovering Lisa's place I will never use a hotel again! This is a wonderful alternative
to a hotel for a business traveler. Everything you need is provided, and everything you would want as well. The amenities
and comfort level is beyond expectation, and you are made to feel right at home. Lisa is a wonderful hostess, and will make
your stay comfortable. The home and grounds are beautiful and the area is very convenient and safe. You can easily access
the downtown area within a few minutes, as well as the Galleria. I recommend the hotel to anyone looking to get away, or that
is forced to get away on business. It is a nice respite from the norm of travel.
06/11/2008 My husband and I live
in the Friendswood area and have 2 young children, needless to say we don't get out much, and when we do we don't like to
go too far. The Modern B&B was absolutly wonderful! We had a relaxing evening, got to sleep in and had the most amazing breakfast.
The price was great compaired to other hotels in the area, not to mention SOOOOO much better. When we were making our reservatons
the Modern was very accomodating. We will definitly stay at the Modern again and highly recommended you give it a try too!

My parents live here, about 2 miles from the Modern with a full guest apartment available to me. Nevertheless, I stay there
for the experience. I first encountered the place (and the lovely Lisa) when meeting a friend for breakfast who was staying
while down from New York. The breakfast is great... cozy with all of the other guests but somehow still edgy. They have a
chef come in and make you whatever you want. The fruit smoothie with tofu blended in was awesome. We stayed in the treehouse
room on the top floor and really, that's the full experience. The room is twice as big as my house in Austin. Full cityscape
views, excellent tub with bubblers, too cool... the private circular staircase is not bad either. There's even a separate
kitchen facility if you like to cook, which would be an awesome thing to do. Go shopping, see some local art and then come
to your "home" and cook a fine meal with interesting people passing randomly through your dinner party. Just an idea. The
Modern B&B is where its at in Houston, and definitely a cooler way to spend a couple hundred bucks than the Marriott.

The Modern is the best B&B we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in B&Bs around the country. The rooms are extraordinary
and the breakfasts amazing, and the proprietor qualifies as the nicest human being on the planet (as well as the most remarkable
person we've ever met). She's the best. We'll always go back to the Modern.
06/02/2008 I fell in Love with Lisa and
this great Bed and Breakfast. I was fortunate to stay there after Katrina. Our company stayed there for a few months after
Katrina. I feel like family. It is one of my favorite memories. Lisa was the greatest hostess. She gave us run of the kitchen.
I got to make coffee in the mornings. But she made breakfast. We made dinner at night. Each of us took a turn with the cooking.
And there was always great conversation and good wine. We had parties at Christmas and New Years. She took us out to meet
her friends. The location is so centrally located. It was very easy to get around town from there. The beds are the best.
I actually came home and bought one like the ones at the B&B. I called Lisa from the Sleep Shop to get the name off the mattress.
I could go on and on. But you really need to visit to experience Lisa's hospitality first hand. Love you Lisa. From Anna and
Terry
4/19/2005 We stayed for two nights in their top floor room and had a wonderful time. The room was gorgeous and
luxurious to an extent that is hard to get even in the expensive hotels, which makes this B&B an absolute bargain for me.
Lisa was wonderful too, she helped us find our way around Houston and treated us to some good home cooking, she also helped
us out when my car broke down during our visit and had to be towed. Thanks Lisa!
4/7/2005 I came in for a conference
and found this gem. I highly recommend this place to others! In fact I've been talking it up to my friends! The place is amazing,
the food, great. Hotels don't hold a candle to this place!
1/5/2005 One word..FAB. I love this place if you are tired
of staying at the typical Victorian style B&B this is your place. Lisa made us feel so welcomed from the first time we called
up until we left helping us with everything including finding myself some nice places to live here in Houston. I would never
think of staying anywhere else when coming to Houston. Great food; great accommodations; great service; Fab innkeeper thanks
Lisa. Keep up the good work!

Real Estate Reviews
See what Lisa's clients have to say about her real estate acumen. Whilst one would be averse to stand up in a court of law and testify for or against the Lovely
Lisa Collins, I can, without doubt, aver to her house vending/finding skills. Lest there be any vagueness, on the part of
the reader of this testimonial, I shall relate my personal experience with the one and only Lisa Collins.
I'm
a 50 year old, single, lush of an Irish woman living in Houston, TX for some 20 odd years. I wanted a house. I wanted a house I could afford. I wanted a
house that didn't need fixing and was ready to walk into. I wanted a house to live in 'til I croak. I wanted a house in a
specific locale (the Heights or Montrose). I wanted a house with a yard (allowing my 2 Yorkshire
Terrier puppies, Seamus and Paddy, to crap and pee at will and
torture squirrels). I wanted a garage (OK, I wanted a garage so I could turn it into a pub). I wanted to feel and be safe
in my new house. I wanted to walk, jog, cycle to the stores for my booze, chips and dip, lottery tickets and dog chow. I wanted
to drive, no more than 15 minutes, to my work place each day without getting on a freeway. I wanted great neighbors. I wanted
peace and quiet. I wanted someone to find MY house ASAP. There was and is no end to my wants.
Any
who, drum roll, enter the LOVELY LISA COLLINS!
A friend
of mine recommended Lisa to me. Lisa was the only realtor I entertained and was entertained by. Lisa got me all of the above
I wants. She is absolutely tireless in meeting the needs/wants of her clients! That is testimonial in itself. However, not
only did I get the home I wished for, and more, but Lisa and I became good friends to me and my "posse" of Irish, English,
Scottish, American chums. What a unique lady! The whole house buying process was painless and a lot of fun for me and my pals.
I could go on and on about the qualities, talents and uniqueness of Lisa, but need to get my butt back to work lest I get fired.
Best wishes, Marion Fitzpatrick
